Poyet Early Favourite To Replace Keegan

Keegan resigned this evening to end a three-day stand off with the club’s board after disagreements over the club’s transfer policies, amongst other issues.

And bookmakers’ are already compiling odds as to who will replace Keegan, with Poyet the 6/4 early favourite. Dennis Wise, likely to be a hugely unpopular choice with the fans, is second favourite, while Didier Deschamps – a candidate before Keegan was appointed this year – sits in third.

Fans’ favourite Alan Shearer is deemed the fourth most likely at 5/1, although whether Shearer would want to take over with the club in its current state of turmoil is questionable. Everton boss David Moyes is said to be the other main candidate for the role at this early stage.
