Fiorentina's Biggest Signing Was Mutu - Moggi

The Romanian international was on the verge of leaving the club in July and he was hours away from joining Roma.

However, the club stepped in and they helped Mutu unpack his suitcase.

La Viola spent over €40m in the transfer window this summer but Moggi believes their best bit of business was keeping Mutu.

“Fiorentina’s big hit was keeping Mutu,” Moggi told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“The Viola have been the leaders of the transfer market but apart from all the deals which saw players come in, Pantaleo Corvino’s big hit was being able to convince mutu to stay.

“However, saying that, all the other big clubs also made some great signings.”

It seems as if Fiorentina’s big spending was money well spent as they qualified for the Champions League group stages as well as match Juventus on the opening day of the season.

Great things are expected of Cesare Prandelli’s side following the major reinforcements.
