Quaresma To Wear Number 77 Shirt
After a long pursuit that lasted pretty much the whole summer, Inter have finally signed Portuguese winger Ricardo Quaresma. The player was strongly wanted by his countryman (and now his coach) Jose Mourinho, who wants to make him a key player in his 4-3-3 formation.
The Via Durini club officially announced Quaresma's arrival with a note on their website at 18.09, though already this morning there were reports that it was a done deal.
Yesterday night he already landed at Linate airport, and today he arrived at Appiano Gentile for the traditional presentation photos and medical checks. After that he also received his new shirt number, 77, and met with Mourinho and the rest of Inter's technical staff.
Quaresma already had one chance at a big club when he signed for Barcelona in 2003, but he could not make an impact with the Blaugrana and left for Porto after just one season. Perhaps now, with a few more years of experience behind him, he will fare better at Inter.
Tomorrow the 24-year-old Portuguese international will be presented to the press at 12.30.
