For some clubs making up the list of players selected to participate in the Champions League can be a delicate task. Last year Adriano's absence from Inter's list caused quite a stir, and this year Jose Mourinho has made the surprising decision to leave out Hernan Crespo. At Milan, Alessandro Nesta's enduring injury problems have also kept him off the Rossoneri's list.
However, at Juventus, coach Claudio Ranieri was lucky enough not to have to make any potentially controversial decisions. No big-name player was left out, not even Tiago, the Portuguese player who was recently branded a 'flop' by his own coach and who rejected a number of offers from other clubs.
Considering his poor relationship with the club's management, who tried to convince him to leave until the end of the transfer window, Tiago's presence in the Champions League list is perhaps the biggest surprise.
