Alfio Basile, told the press on Friday, that "there's a great possibility" that his formation against Paraguay will be similar to the one that he has been utilizing in the training sessions during the week.
The former Boca Juniors coach insists that he is "happy with the training session the team had (on Friday), they played how I like them to play, that's why I choose players with a good touch."
His starting XI is likely to be made up with the following players: Roberto Abbondanzieri, Javier Zanetti, Martin Demichelis, Fabricio Coloccini, Gabriel Heinze, Javier Mascherano, Esteban Cambiasso, Angel Di Maria, Juan Roman Riquelme, Lionel Messi and Carlos Tevez.
Basile expects a good performance from his side because he believes they owe this to their fans, after the disappointing 1-1 draw with Ecuador in their last World Cup qualifier at the Monumental stadium.
The coach admitted that Di Maria "deserves a place" in the team, and that the Benfica striker is more than capable of living up to the responsibility.
"I loved how he played in the Olympic Games, he is an explosive player, I think his time has arrived, and he deserves an opportunity."
