The 25-year-old’s proposed move to San Siro had become one of the transfer soap operas of the summer, but on deadline day a deal worth up to €30.6m was finally agreed.
The Nerrazzuri will pay Porto €18.6 million, plus another €6 million in performance-based bonuses, while also including young Portuguese midfielder, Vitor Hugo Pélé, with the 20 year old going to Porto on a permanent transfer.Quaresma will be officially presented to the press today, but yesterday he met with Inter coach Jose Mourinho and technical staff, where a few photos (see above) were taken.
"I am very happy to be here and I hope to give my contribution to win as much with these colours," were Quaresma’s first words as an Inter player.
“ I feel good and psychologically I feel even better. I am hoping to play and to get my chance to shine.
“I am ready for this test because coming here is a dream come true for me.
“I'm not upset with Porto because I am grateful to the club for everything they have given me over the years.
“However, I have just been hoping that everything would work out well and my agent Jorge Mendes reassured me.”
Quaresma is fearing nobody in Serie A and he cannot wait to rumble with bitter city rivals Milan in the derby.
“I'm ready to take on anyone,” added the winger.
“There are great players in Italy but I don't fear Milan or Ronaldinho because my teammates are all champions.”
The former Barcelona man, who will wear the number 77 shirt, was specifically requested by Mourinho in order to fit into his favoured 4-3-3 formation.
Amantino Mancini has already been signed from Roma earlier this summer, and Quaresma will now give Inter four strong wide options, along with Mario Balotelli and Luis Figo.
