Hertha Thrilled Over Voronin Deal

The 29-year-old has signed for the ‘Old Lady’ on a one-year loan deal after failing to hold down a regular first team spot at the Anfield club.

"We have worked very hard on this," said general manager Dieter Hoeness told the Berliner Morgenpost.

"We opted for Andriy because he knows the Bundesliga, he speaks German and he can play in a variety of different tactical systems.

"Andriy proved with Leverkusen and Liverpool that he can perform when under pressure. I am happy that we have found an experienced striker for our young team."

Voronin only just joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen last summer, but starts were few and far between and the chances of more regular football decreased dramatically with the arrival of Robbie Keane.
