United Make Final Berbatov Bid

The Bulgarian has made his desire to leave North London plain and he was left out of the Tottenham squad for yesterday’s 2-1 defeat to Sunderland, which has increased speculation a move is imminent.
According to the News of the World, United have now offered Spurs £25 million as they look to end the long-running transfer saga. However, it is thought that Tottenham want £30 million for the striker they signed from Bayer Leverkusen in 2006.
Should Juande Ramos’ side reject the offer from the Premier League champions, it is thought that United will walk away from the deal and turn their interests elsewhere.
The paper quotes a source who they claim is involved in the move as saying: “Sir Alex is not going to be held to ransom. Tottenham have got their own deals lined up and they all depend on Berbatov going through. It’s in everybody’s interest to do business quickly.”
Tottenham are thought to be in the market for a striker, having already lost Robbie Keane to Liverpool this summer, and the Russian strikers Andrei Arshavin and Roman Pavlyuchenko has been widely touted as being at the top of Tottenham’s shopping list.
The News of the World also speculates that Spurs could move for Wigan’s Emile Heskey, whilst Michael Owen has also been tipped as being a replacement for Berbatov.
