Raul: With Our Squad Few Signings Were Necessary

"What is most positive is that we have a very united group, we are good friends, and on top of this we have enormous quality as footballers," he stated. "The coach knows us very well, and for this reason we all have to play very well this year. We have to go day by day and with lots of work, but with the team we have success has to arrive."
Raul believes Real Madrid had a very productive pre-season, and now they have to translate this into their league matches.
"Our preparations have been very positive, and now we are looking forward to beginning the important matches. Last Sunday we had the first of these, the first leg against Valencia, and now we are looking forward to making our home debut, to start La Liga, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey. We have big objectives and very high hopes," he affirmed.
In reference to reinforcements (for the moment they have only signed Rafael van der Vaart) the Real Madrid striker stated "we only needed to make a few signings" because of "the unity and quality of the squad."
"The arrival of Van der Vaart has added more quality to the team. He is young and is motivated to do things well and to triumph at Real Madrid. We are a group of 25 and we want to participate, to help out, to play and to make things difficult for our teammates, this will make all the difference for the team this season," he concluded.
