Pavlyuchenko Confirms He’s Joining Spurs

Pavlyuchenko has been linked with a move to White Hart Lane throughout the summer but his latest comments suggest that a deal may finally be imminent.
The striker’s current side Spartak Moscow are due to face Dynamo Kiev in the second leg of their Champions League qualifier this week, however the striker confirmed he had not travelled to Kiev due to the impending move.
Speaking to the Russian branch of UEFA’s website, he said: “I am back in Moscow and I will not play in Kiev, and I can confirm I am going to Tottenham.”
However, the Russian was quick to reveal that the deal had not yet been concluded and that there were several bureaucratic hurdles to overcome first. He explained: “I am waiting for a Visa and as soon as it is granted, I am ready to go to England and sign.”
The Spartak forward also admitted that he had not yet met with Tottenham boss Juande Ramos, however he claimed that the Spaniard was a big fan of his. The striker confirmed: “Juande Ramos, I have not yet met, it seems like he will call me - but I know for sure he is very interested in my services.”
Eduard Nisenboim, a spokesman for Spartak Moscow, has also reportedly confirmed to the Russian press that a deal for Pavlyuchenko is close.
“I would prefer it if the deal was described as very close,” said Nisenboim, before concluding, “At the moment the papers have not yet been signed - we have only reached a verbal agreement with the England club.”
