Liverpool to offer Voronin plus cash in new bid for Espanyol's Riera

As the news came in last night that Everton had put in the highest bid to Espanyol for their winger Albert Riera, it has been reported this morning that Liverpool are going to up their bid too, but with a twist.They are said to have offered the out-of-favour striker Andriy Voronin to the Spanish club plus €7million in cash. This is thought to amount to €2million more than the previous bid.Everton are said by GuillemBalague to have offered a straight €11million in cash for Riera, which is the requested amount from Espanyol, so now it will depend on whether they want Voronin as a replacement or not.The player has stated many times that his preferred destination is Anfield, and that may also affect their decision. We will know the result very shortly i think, but the result will be probably more bad news for Everton.
