Behrami Has Strength Of Two, Says Curbishley

The Hammers are undergoing a period of cutbacks following the lavish spending of former manager Eggert Magnusson, slashing the squad’s wage bill and releasing less funds than previous seasons this summer.
And while Behrami was Curbishley’s only signing of the summer following his transfer from Lazio, the former Charlton Athletic manager is confident that the new arrival can fill the void down the right.
"Valon (below) started last Saturday at right-back then switched to right wing. We've lost two players on that side and he can replace them both. He's a raiding fullback and a winger.
"And he will try to keep up with Julien Faubert in full flight, so he's definitely not afraid to put the miles in.
"He's the sort of player who will relish the intensity of the game here, especially when he gets his fitness up.
“There's a lot more to come from him."
The Upton Park boss did, however, have some words of comfort for the club’s faithful when he admitted that side could have two more additions before the transfer window closes at the end of August.
"It's getting much harder to buy players and the statistics of how much money is being spent bear that out,” he added.
“But we're trying to add a couple."
