Dunn set for new Rovers deal

Blackburn Rovers boss Paul Ince is ready to hand David Dunn a new contract after being impressed by the midfielder's start to the new season. Dunn, 28, is in his second spell at Ewood Park following his return in January 2007 and has been a key figure in each of Rovers' and new manager Ince's two games so far this season. The former England Under-21 international scored in the season opening 3-2 win at Everton and caught the eye during the weekend 1-1 draw with Hull City. Dunn still has two years remaining on his existing contract but is set to be rewarded with a new long-term deal at the club where he came through the youth system. "Dunny is a local lad and everyone looks up to him. I gave him the responsibility of being vice-captain and he has taken it on board," said Ince. "If any player performs well - whether it is Dunny or anyone else - then we will look to see if we can extend their contract. "But first and foremost we need to get the next couple of games out of the way."
