Denilson Determined For Starting Role

On his arrival to the club, Denilson was touted (along with Lucas Leiva) in Brazilian circles as the future of A Seleção's midfield. His form last season though indicated that the U20 captain had regressed, rather than improve.Arsenal's number 15 now insists that he is ready to make the position his own, as he targets a breakthrough year playing alongside Cesc Fabregas. The Brazilian midfielder told journalists: "It is time for me to show what I can do. The coach is giving me opportunities and I know I have to make the most of them. I am more mature now that I am in my third season."Denilson spoke of the progress Eduardo da Silva had made since his leg break courtesy of a high tackle from Birmingham City's Martin Taylor. "I've talked with him and he is better, he's now running and soon will be back. In three months he should be playing again, God willing."
