Tottenham relief as Zenit sign Arshavin replacement

Last night Zenit St Patersburg unveiled their replacement for Andrei Arshavin. They paid €30million euros to Dynamo Moscow for the Venezuelan playmaker Danny Alves, who has one cap for Portugal.This will now leave the way clear for them to recoup their record Russian fee by letting Andrei Arshavin get his wish to join Tottenham.Danny only made his debut for Portugal five days ago, but the 25 year-old has a brilliant reputation as the best foreigner playing in the Russian League.He was at Sporting Lisbon for three years but couldn't get into the first team. He only played 12 games for them before moving to Moscow and becoming a star.
