Prandelli Aiming High

The former Parma tactician spent no less than €35m on new players this summer and he believes his well oiled machine will speed towards some great objectives this term.“Fiorentina is like a powerful sports car, now we have to unleash it on the race track,” Prandelli told Il Corriere Fiorentino.“We have many new players and we are trying to re-find the balance that has allowed us to play some great football over the past three years.“We have more quality and therefore it is normal that we have to aim higher.”Prandelli also spoke of the Viola’s transfer campaign which has seen the arrival of major names such as Alberto Gilardino and Juan Manuel Vargas.“The club has spent lots of money well, buying young players with great potential and players that we wanted above all," added the coach. “The new players are settling down well and we have to make sure the old integrate well with the new. “I don’t think anyone else will arrive, we are happy with what we have already. “Pazzini? He is giving me great difficulties in terms of selection but I like it this way when players compete hard for places.” Adrian Mutu and Alberto Gilardino are likely to be the front two with Pazzini trying to push himself in over the course of the season. The Viola are looking very impressive this term and they have their eyes set on a good run in Serie A as well as the Champions League
