Mutu To Miss Slavia And Juve Clash

There’s bad news for La Viola, as it is now confirmed that Adrian Mutu will miss his side's next two official matches at least, the Champions League preliminary return-leg against Slavia Prague and their Serie A opener with Juventus.
The Romanian dislocated his elbow while training with his national squad on August 19th.
Fiorentina had feared the worst when it was revealed the striker had an injury, and doctors confirmed today that he could not take part in the next few matches: "It (the elbow) has shown improvements, but he cannot be used Wednesday against Slavia Prague or the first Sunday in the championship against Juventus."
Fiorentina fans will hope Mutu's services will not be needed in Prague as the club have a 2-0 lead going into the second-leg. However, I Gigliati have a tougher test against Juventus on Sunday at the Stadio Artemio Franchi and Mutu's services would have, ofcourse, been welcomed.
Mutu nearly left Fiorentina this summer for Roma, but the move was halted as La Viola coach Cesare Prandelli considered him a key part of his squad. Mutu scored 17 Serie A goals for the Florence outfit last season and will be looking to pick up where he left off when he returns from injury.
