Lyon Still Keen On Eto'o

The French giants' president, Jean-Michel Aulas, stated earlier this summer that he hoped to be able to tempt the former Mallorca star to move to Stade Gerland and now he is trying one last push.Barça have said that they want to keep Eto'o, but the offer of a swap deal involving Karim Benzema could well see them attempt to push through a deal in the next few days."I am not sure that our campaign of signings has finished. We have so many competitions," Aulas told French television programme, Orange Foot.Benzema stated recently that he knew that one day he would leave Lyon and has previously stated that his preferred destination would be Barcelona. With the Blaugrana's season already having started with a victory in the Champions League qualifiers against Wisla Krakow, it would appear that Lyon have left their plan too late.Eto'o returned to pre-season training knowing that he had to convince new Barça coach, Pep Guardiola, that he should stay and he has done that with five goals in the warm-up matches. Two further goals against Wisla saw him win back over the fans that doubted his commitment last season and only a major change would see him now leave the Camp Nou.
