Aquilani had been one of Juventus’ main transfer targets this summer, and they tabled a number of offers to Roma, only to be rebounded every time.Juve finally opted to sign Sevilla midfielder Christian Poulsen, but the transfer did not go down well with the majority of supporters, with some even labelling the Dane as “another rubbish player”.Poulsen has not particularly impressed in the games he has played so far, and as a result Juve fans at www.vecchiasignora.com have launched a petition in a bid to get the club to sign Aquilani before the end of the transfer window next week.Aquilani’s future at Roma has been looking increasingly uncertain in recent weeks due to problems over the renewal of his contract. The 24-year-old’s current deal runs out in 2010 and the player has been asking for around €2.5m in wages per year in order to sign an extension. However, so far, Roma are only believed to have offered €1.6m, even if there were unconfirmed reports earlier this week that the player was on the verge of signing a new deal. The chances of Aquilani arriving in Turin remain slim, but what is for certain is that Juventini are far from happy with the contribution of Poulsen so far.
