Horror Air Crash Rocks Spain

"Spainair" flight JKK 5022 failed to make it off the runway at Barajas before becoming engulfed in flames, killing over 140. The plane, scheduled to operate between Madrid and Las Palmas, contained mostly Spaniards, but also some German tourists.Tonight's international between Denmark and Spain went ahead as planned, but the players donned black armbands as the stadium took a minute's silence in memory of the dead.Furthermore, two matches have been postponed. The game between Las Palmas and Málaga will no longer take place tonight as planned due to the local effect of the disaster.Hércules of Alicante and Valencia have postponed their match, which Valencia had already traveled to attend, out of respect for the "pain of the families and loved ones of the accident's victims."Meanwhile Tenerife have opted to cancel the festive celebrations that would have taken place prior to their presentation game against Roda JC, expressing their "sympathy, and sense of dismay and pain" in the aftermath of the tragedy.A number of clubs, including Real Madrid, Real Betis, Sevilla and Valencia, have issued official statements of condolence.
