Berbatov To Be Sanctioned

As speculation rumbles on regarding the 27-year old’s future, with the player attracting firm interest from Manchester United, his mind has appeared elsewhere in recent weeks.
The former Bayer Leverkusen hitman was dropped to the bench for Spurs’ opening Premiership clash with Middlesbrough, a game the north Londoners also lost 2-1, and his omission was felt once again as he cited a poor frame of mind and asked to be granted permission to miss the fixture.

It looks certain that Sir Alex Ferguson will tie up a £23 million deal before the transfer window closes at the end of August, though as Berbatov’s lack of commitment continues to hinder their season, Ramos may be forced into dealing with the player’s ill-discipline.

When asked whether the forward would face consequences for his actions, Ramos said: "That is a decision the club has to make. That is a very interesting question you should ask the club."

Prior to the game, Ramos explained Berbatov’s absence, stating that he would have no more privileges than any other player at White Harte Lane

“"He didn't play because he wasn't in the right condition, this is what he told me before the game when I spoke to him. So he did not play,” Ramos said.

"We'll have to wait and see, tomorrow (Sunday) we'll speak to the player and then we'll make a decision (on his future).

"It's a situation that is very personal, there are players able to play under these circumstances and others whose head is not right. Berbatov is in the latter category.

"We'll have a meeting with the player and clarify a few points and see if there is a decision to be made.

"We'll meet primarily to know if he is in any state to play in the next match or we have to find another solution."
"He hasn't got any power, if he is no condition to play the game he in not going to play, that is the same as any other player."
