Lens defender agrees terms with Portsmouth

Reports from France suggest that the Lens defender Nadir Belhadj is on the verge of joining Portsmouth. L'Equipe say that personal terms have been agreed for a four-year contract and that Portsmouth are now negotiating the transfer fee with Lens, expected to be in the region of £3million.The Algerian international was reported to be a target of Celtic and West Ham after his club were relegated from Ligue 1 this summer, but it seems that Harry Redknapp has decided to reinvest his earnings from selling Pedro Mendes to Rangers.
