Italy-Austria Probable Teams

Lippi returns to the Azzurri bench for the first time since the 2006 World Cup final win over France in Berlin 25 months ago.The 60-year-old will be up against Euro 2008 co-hosts Austria, and he is set to employ an attacking 4-3-3 against the ‘Wunderteam’.Alessandro Del Piero, Antonio Di Natale, and the recalled Alberto Gilardino should form a forward trident, with Gennaro Gattuso, Daniele De Rossi and Andrea Pirlo in midfield.Gianluigi Buffon will keep goal, protected by a back four of Gianluca Zambrotta, Daniele Bonera, Andrea Barzagli and Fabio Grosso. There are few surprises in Lippi’s line-up, who has gone for experience as he aims to get his second reign off to a winning start.Austria coach Karel Bruckner, also debuting tonight, has offered a recall to Wigan midfielder Paul Scharner after a spell in the international wilderness.Stefan Maierhofer will be the man to watch up-front after a blistering start to the season for Rapid Vienna, where he scored seven goals in his first eight games.Probable Teams:Italy(4-3-3): Buffon, Grosso, Barzagli, Bonera, Zambrotta, Gattuso, Pirlo, De Rossi, Del Piero, Gilardino, Di Natale.
