The Bianconeri largely impressed at the Stadio Franchi on Sunday night, and took the lead in the first half through Pavel Nedved.
Despite creating few chances, Fiorentina earned a share of the spoils in the penultimate minute of the match, thanks to Alberto Gilardino.
Although having to settle for a point, Del Piero was encouraged by Juve’s performance, but he has apologised for the easy one-on-one chance he missed at 1-0 which would have killed off the game.
"I hit the ball too low,” Del Piero confessed to the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“However, against Fiorentina, I understood that we can really fight for the Scudetto.
“If we consider that it was the first day and a direct clash in a hostile stadium, and if we add to this what we created and just how little we risked giving away, the outcome is very comforting.
“I saw a balanced and determined Juve."
Juventus' second game of the season is at home to Udinese next weekend.
